A VISION FOR
HANWOOD

The proposed development of land on the northern side of Leonard Road enables the expansion of Hanwood village to provide much needed housing supply and diversity, public amenities, as well as recreational and public open spaces for the local community.
In early 2026, Council made the decision to reduce the scope of the planning proposal and to take a staged approach to project delivery, which will delay parts of the proposed development, including storm water upgrades, community infrastructure and additional housing.

    Have your say on the proposal. 

    Following consultation with the Hanwood community, we will take on board any feedback and look to update the concept design. The next step will be to prepare and lodge a Planning Proposal with Council and other relevant planning authorities that seeks to amend the land zoning and change / amalgamate the staging that Council is currently considering for land on Leonard Road. Once the Planning Proposal has been approved and the land has been re-zoned we want to submit Development Applications for the land on the northern side of Leonard Road as soon as possible.

    Our primary goal is to prioritise communal well-being, economic vitality, a sense of belonging, and interconnectedness. With “Connectivity” as our guiding principle, to date the masterplan has been thoughtfully designed to improve community and living in Hanwood.
